Second Federal Aid Package Approved – After intense negotiations, Congress has approved an urgent last-minute federal aid package totaling $900 billion, the second largest in the country’s history. The bill provides funding to accelerate vaccine distribution and help those affected by the pandemic, including small and medium-sized businesses, unemployed workers and renters facing eviction. Myths and Realities about Home Remedies to Combat Covid-19 – The Covid-19 pandemic continues to affect Latinos more than other communities. In San Diego, the majority of those infected are Latino. Because of lack of access to medical services or simply because they prefer it, some are choosing to treat themselves with natural remedies. Experts recognize the value of natural medicine but warn of the serious dangers of delaying medical care if the coronavirus is contracted. Jessica Bedolla has the details. Ancestral Foods Nourish Immigrants’ Bodies and Souls this Holiday Season – To get through the crises generated by the pandemic and the holiday season, millions of unemployed or part-time workers are turning to food banks run by government agencies or charitable organizations. In Arizona, a group of activists is adding something special to their donation: they give food bags with indigenous and organic products to immigrants and low-income people so that, in addition to alleviating their hunger, they can reconnect with the smells and flavors of their ancestors.
