Pregnant Immigrants with Coronavirus at Increased Risk of Depression. A disproportionate number of Latinas are infected with Covid-19 and are more likely to suffer complications from the pandemic. But what worries experts most is the impact on their mental health and the few services available to them, the long-term consequences of which are unknown. Calls to Make Covid 19 Vaccine Available to Cross-border Workers. Even with the partial closure of the border between San Diego and Tijuana, more than 100,000 essential Latino workers cross daily from Mexico to the United States to work in San Diego. Given the resurgence of the pandemic, Hispanic members of congress are asking that this binational border population be prioritized in the distribution of vaccines once they are available.
