Latinos Encouraged to Make Themselves Count – Days before the Supreme Court is expected to rule on whether or not to include the question of citizenship in the 2020 Census, another serious problem is lack of resources. And some warn that if urgent measures are not taken, more than two million Latinos could be excluded from this critical population count. House Democrats have put forth a bill to block this measure, which would affect tens of thousands of US-citizen children. Historical Leaders of Suffragist Movement Remembered – This month marked 100 years since the US Congress approved the right to vote for women. The movement’s most famous leader was Massachusetts social reformer Susan B. Anthony, but behind her there was an army of “suffragists” who fought for decades to make the voting rights for women a reality.
