San Francisco Construction Project Seeks to Respond to Housing Crisis – In San Francisco, five housing projects are underway that will build more than 600 apartments for low-income families in the Mission District, the city’s oldest neighborhood. This was made possible by collaboration among housing activists, the mayor’s office and entrepreneurs, who joined resources in an extraordinary effort to confront the shortage of affordable housing in one of the most expensive cities in the country.
