Meanwhile, attempts to pass two Republican bills on immigration have failed. The initiatives sought to respond to the crisis of the Dreamers and separated children while giving the green light to the wall and dealing a blow to the current system of legal, family-reunifying immigration. In Mexican Presidential Election, Voting Abroad is Historic but Minimal – On the eve of the deadline for Mexicans to cast ballots from abroad in the July 1 presidential elections, nearly 100,000 people have done so. This figure is at a historic high, but is still low given that 180,000 ballots were requested and more than half a million Mexicans are registered to vote abroad.
