Youth and Celebrities Ask Democrats to do More for the Dream Act – As California is home to the country’s the largest population of young immigrants, youth activists and entertainment figures are calling on Senator Dianne Feinstein to lead the fight to protect them in Washington. Protesters held a sit-in at Feinstein’s office in Los Angeles and warned that if Democrats fail to do more, they will challenge them by putting forth progressive candidates in the upcoming primaries. Question on Citizenship Threatens to Thwart Census Effort – The Justice Department’s attempt to include a question on citizenship and immigration status on the 2020 census form is politically motivated and would be disastrous for the count, discouraging participation by immigrants, according to Edward Kissam, a leading census specialist and civil rights advocate.
