Goodbye, Miss Alma Garza – Days ago, the veteran voice of Radio Bilingüe and well-known figure of Tejano music, Alma Garza, died in Fresno, California. For more than thirty years, she hosted the popular program La Onda Texana. Alma, who came to California when she was 13, from the Rio Grande Valley, died on March 9th, at 68 years old. With her warm voice and unique laugh, and her deep knowledge of Tejano music, Miss Alma brought joy to the hearts of Tejano music lovers all over the country, and she had fans among the conjunto greats. To say goodbye to our great compañera and radio host, we have prepared this collage of her music and her voice, including comments made on the program Línea Abierta.
