New Pesticide Protections for Farm Workers – The federal Environmental Protection Agency recenty published important measures to protect farm workers against the damage to health caused by pesticides. Our reporter Rubén Tapia went to Ventura County, an area of California famous for strawberry production, to get first reactions on the impact of these new measures.

Taking Back Streets to Improve Health – The Salinas Valley is known as “The Salad Bowl of the World” because of the agricultural production of lettuce. But a large number of residents of the city of Salinas have poor health due to poor nutrition and not much exercise. The residents have little access to stores with healthy food or green areas to walk and move. To reclaim the space and change the outcomes, a group of youth and community organizers closed off one of the main streets to cars and opened it completely to bicycles and pedestrians. Fernando Andrés Torres visited the Ciclovia Salinas Festival and has this story.
