Debate Over Large Aid Check Reverberates in Georgia Elections

The proposed increase to $2,000 in aid for families affected by the pandemic remains stalled in the Senate. The increase was proposed by President Trump and rapidly approved in the House with bipartisan support. In contrast, in the Senate, Republican leader Mitch McConnell made the vote conditional on opening an investigation into discredited allegations of voter fraud.
