Radio Bilingüe to Broadcast Critical 2018 Candidates Forums –
Continuing Latino Voter Engagement News Tradition

The Radio Bilingüe Latino Public Radio Network announces rebroadcasts of critical California and San Joaquin Valley candidates forums as part its “Hacia el Voto – Elections 2018” series, a Latino civic-participation news tradition on Radio Bilingüe.  Coming broadcasts (English-language) include:

California Governor Candidates Debate:
Republican John Cox vs. Democrat Gavin Newsom
Hosted by Scott Schaffer of KQED Public Radio

Airdates: Wednesday, Oct. 10, 5-6 PM PDT and
Thursday, Oct. 11, 10 AM PDT
Rebroadcasts of only debate between California’s 2018 Gubernatorial candidates recorded Oct. 8 by partner KQED Public Radio

Congressional District 4 Candidates Debate
Republican incumbent Rep. Tom McClintock vs. Democratic challenger Jessica Morse
Hosted by KQED Public Radio

Congressional District 21 Candidates Forum
Democrat TJ Cox presents his views and answers questions in rebroadcast of Radio Bilingüe live Townhall Forum from Oct. 15*.  TJ Cox is challenging Republican incumbent Rep. David Valadao of Hanford, who declined to participate the forum.

Airdate: Tuesday, Oct. 16, 4-6 PM PDT

Congressional District 22 Candidates Forum

Democrat Andrew Janz presents his views and answers questions in rebroadcast of Radio Bilingüe live Townhall Forum from Oct. 17**.  Janz is challenging Republican incumbent Rep. Devin Nunes of Tulare, who has not yet responded to repeated invitations to participate.

Airdates: Thursday, Oct. 18, 5-6 PM PDT

These special Elections 2018 broadcasts will air on all Radio Bilingüe stations in California including three full-power stations in the San Joaquin Valley – 91.5 KSJV Fresno, KMPO 88.7 Modesto-Stockton and KTQX 90.1 Bakersfield  – as well as an additional 60 stations affiliated with the Latino public radio network around the state and nation. The programs will also be distributed via webcast, podcast, and audio on demand.
