Radio Bilingüe will be airing a community dialogue on neighborhood displacement and other issues impacting youth in Los Angeles this Wednesday October 15th, 2014, at 5 PM PDT.

The program features a dialogue between youth and community leaders from the Boyle Heights neighborhood in East Los Angeles, and a group of members of the distinguished group Los Macarturos, Latino recipients of the MacArthur Foundation “Genious” Fellowship.

Convened as a community conversation, this forum includes stories of gentrification, racism, and the challenges faced by youth growing up in a barrio plagued by extreme poverty but brimming in cultural life and treasures.

While bilingual in format, the program is primarily in English, and it runs for one hour and a half.

This program was recorded on September 17, 2014, in Boyle Heights, in collaboration with partner station KPFK, Pacifica Radio, Los Angeles.
