Town hall set on immigration reform at Fresno City Hall

Radio Bilingüe, a nonprofit radio network with Latino control and leadership, will host a live town hall meeting on immigration reform July 1 at Fresno City Hall.

The public meeting held from 5-7 p.m. will cover issues including the Deferred Action for Children Arrivals program — which defers deportations for people in school or in the military who entered the U.S. illegally as children — and will provide a space for immigrant families to speak up as the U.S. Senate prepares to vote on immigration reform and the House begins debate on immigration-oriented bills.

The forum, in English and Spanish and hosted by Radio Bilingüe’s Alma Martínez and Samuel Orozco, will air live across the Radio Bilingüe public radio network.

In the San Joaquin Valley, the program will air on KSJV-FM 91.5 in Fresno, KTQX-FM 90.1 in Bakersfield, and KMPO-FM 88.7 in Modesto. In addition, Radio Bilingüe’s nationally distributed talk show Línea Abierta will air a tape-delayed edition of the forum the following day at noon PDT over its satellite network.

The programs also will be available online via webcast and podcast on www.radiobilingue.org.
